California Applicant Privacy Notice

Arana Craftsman Painters (“Arana,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides this California Applicant Privacy Notice to explain how we collect, use, retain, disclose, and otherwise process personal information relating to California residents who apply for employment, internships, contractor roles, or similar positions with us (“Applicants”).
This Notice supplements our general Privacy Policy and applies only to personal information collected in connection with an Applicant’s application or potential employment relationship with Arana.
Personal Information We Collect
In connection with an application, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

Please do not submit medical information, disability information, Social Security numbers, financial-account information, or other sensitive personal information through the application unless we specifically request it.
Sources of Personal Information
We may collect Applicant personal information:
- Directly from you, including through the application, interview, communications, and information you provide to us;
- From references or former employers, if you authorize us to contact them;
- From public or professional sources, where permitted by law;
- From service providers that support recruiting, website hosting, communications, or recordkeeping; and
- Automatically through our website or application portal.
How We Use Applicant Information
We may use Applicant personal information to:
- Receive, review, and evaluate applications;
- Communicate with Applicants about applications, interviews, hiring decisions, and onboarding;
- Verify qualifications, work history, references, licenses, certifications, and other information;
- Schedule interviews and administer the hiring process;
- Evaluate candidates and make employment decisions;
- Maintain recruitment and business records;
- Protect the security, integrity, and operation of our systems and business;
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to legal claims, and enforce our rights; and
- Conduct other activities reasonably related to the application or potential employment relationship.
How We Disclose Applicant Information
We may disclose Applicant personal information to:
- Company personnel with a legitimate business need to participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, management, or legal compliance;
- Service providers that assist with website hosting, application processing, communications, technology, recordkeeping, or professional services;
- References, former employers, licensing bodies, or other verification sources, where authorized or permitted by law;
- Government agencies, law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other parties when required or permitted by law; and
- Other parties in connection with a business transaction, legal claim, investigation, or protection of Company rights and property.
We do not sell Applicant personal information or share Applicant personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention of Applicant Information
We retain application materials, employment and education history, qualifications, references, interview records, and communications relating to an application for at least four years after the applicable hiring decision. We may retain this information longer when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to or defend legal claims, resolve disputes, enforce our rights, or maintain required business records.
If an Applicant is hired, relevant information will become part of the employee personnel file and will be retained according to our employee-record retention practices and applicable law.
We retain website and application-portal activity information only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, functionality, analytics, and legal-compliance purposes. We retain SMS consent and opt-out records for as long as reasonably necessary to document consent, honor opt-out requests, and comply with applicable law.
We retain applicant information for at least four years after the hiring decision and longer when required or reasonably necessary for legal compliance, claims, disputes, or other lawful business purposes. Applicants hired by the Company are subject to our employee-record retention practices.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident and the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) applies to Arana, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we collected about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
- Request information about our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, if applicable; and
- Be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising applicable privacy rights.

We may update this Notice from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the Effective Date above.
